  1. October 2nd through the 9th; Travel on 2nd & 9th; work days m-f 4th - 8th; Exploring with team:3rd

  2. October 9th through the 16th; Travel on 9nd & 16th; work days m-f 11th - 15th; Exploring:10th

  3. October 16th through the 23rd; Travel on 16th & 23rd; work days m-f 18th - 22th; Exploring:17th

Background

This past December a work team from Massachusetts was genuinely impressed with the folks at St Bernard Project(SBP). This group is wonderfully organized, prepared with a support network to make the needed progress in such an overwhelming situation. We are thrilled to foster a continued partnership. Description of work

  • Rebuilding skills are advantageous but showing up counts for a lot.
  • Our project is likely to include carpentry, painting, and other types construction related work
  • We will fly down to New Orleans and stay in some shared accommodations.
  • GCW will make arrangements for ground transportation and accommodations. Please let us know your preferences when you sign up.

  • Gulf Coast Works brings volunteers to the gulf coast to work on home rebuilding for victims of Katrina. We have worked in Biloxi and in New Orleans, and we try to partner with local rebuilding organizations.
