Trip - Organized and managed by GCW
Work - Organized and managed by St Bernard Project - the most effective Katrina rebuilding organization in New Orleans.
Dates - Sun May 2 - Sat May 8 (work days 3rd - 7th)
(other dates are in the planing stage for the fall)

Background
This past December a work team from Massachusetts was genuinely impressed with the folks at St Bernard Project(SBP). This group is wonderfully organized, prepared with a support network to make the needed progress in such an overwhelming situation. We are thrilled to foster a continued partnership. Description of work
  • Rebuilding skills are advantageous but showing up counts for a lot.
  • Our project is likely to include carpentry, painting, and other types construction related work
  • We will fly down to New Orleans and stay in some shared accommodations.
  • GCW will make arrangements for ground transportation and accommodations. Please let us know your preferences when you sign up.

    • Gulf Coast Works brings volunteers to the gulf coast to work on home rebuilding for victims of Katrina. We have worked in Biloxi and in New Orleans, and we try to partner with local rebuilding organizations.
