Gulf Coast Works invites you to be a part of Gulf Coast rebuilding and recovery! We are a grass-roots organization established to help people recover in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina through volunteer help, and since late 2005, we have helped hundreds of volunteers get there to clean up and rebuild. After Five year there is still so much to do.
Become a part of a team of volunteers for 2010 that can help in many ways, from actual hands-on building to other much needed work in communities of St. Bernard Parish adjacent to New Orleans!
“ For the uninitiated, the 30 mile drive from East Biloxi
to Bay St. Louis looks like the last piece of undeveloped
real estate in America ... foundations of former homes and
businesses have been overgrown with grass and wild-
flowers. We had to keep reminding ourselves that not long
ago, this strip was heavily developed with a thriving
tourist, fishing and recreational boating industry, as well as
gracious antebellum homes that defined the Coast and the
history of its people. ”

The building of a new home in the Ninth Ward with its completion in May '09 is a huge success! 2010 promises to be just as productive, fun, and rewarding. with trips starting in May. Click here to see details about that great opportunity to volunteer.
Our friends at St. Bernard Project adjoining New Orleans are committed for the long term. This past December a group
of our volunteers
worked with them
and were
genuinely impressed.
Many grassroots groups along the Gulf Coast have no budget for the assistance they need, such as legal advice and accounting. Volunteers with these skills can help, without even traveling, by donating their time and expertise from home.
